Craig is a graduate of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended Bethel Seminary in San Diego and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He was a youth pastor for 12 years and has served as a senior pastor for 30 years. Craig and his wife Pam have been married 40 years and have 3 children- Chad, Nicole and Lindsay. The newest adventure has been joining the ranks of “joyful grandparents” to Madelyn, Charlie, and Milo.
Michael and his wife Denise come to Olivet after serving in Arizona. Michael and Denise met at Calvin College where he graduated with a degree in Religion and Theology. He then graduated with his Masters in Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. They have two sons, Joel and Nolan. Michael enjoys being active (swimming, biking, running, playing basketball) and spending time with his family.
Justin grew up attending Olivet with his family. After graduating from Calvin College in 2006, Justin served as a youth pastor at Calvary EFC in Minnesota for four and half years. He has enjoyed serving the teenagers at Olivet since being called to Olivet in September of 2010. Justin and his wife Stephanie have a son, Davis, and a daughter, Mackenzie. Justin hopes that Olivet’s youth ministry will help every student to know Jesus and become His disciple who makes more disciples.
Justin and his wife Tia both grew up at Olivet and have been faithful volunteers individually and as a couple. Justin is now the Pastor to our Marquette campus and is leading with an amazing “relationships-first” style. Justin also helps lead a group of Christians exploring their faith at Baker College. The Stapels have one son, Isaiah.
Mary and her husband, Ben, have been part of the Olivet family for 27 years where they have served in a variety of capacities. She graduated from Baptist Bible College with a degree in Christian Education and also holds a Bachelor of Business Leadership Degree from Baker College. Mary became our Children’s Ministries Director in November of 2013. Mary and Ben have a shared passion for children. They have five school-aged children- Kyleah, Karston, Kendon, Kamea, and Kaleb, three grown children, and are active foster parents.
Amanda and her husband Adam have been married for 12 years. They have three children. Sullivan, Eloise and Matilda. They have been attending Olivet for 8 years. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. She was a kindergarten teacher for many years before having children. She became the Children’s Ministry Assistant in the Fall of 2019.
Marsha and her husband, David, have attended Olivet since moving to Michigan in 2004. They have both enjoyed becoming part of the Olivet family and serving in many of Olivet’s ministries. In 2009 Marsha took on the role of Bookkeeper, and soon also began working part time as Secretary at the Harvey campus.
The role of a church “secretary” is extremely important. More than answering phones and making copies (and coffee), they are the first voice and the first impression most people have of the church. Sandy is vibrant in her role and is a caring and positive coordinator of people, needs and events. Sandy and her husband, Roger, have 4 grown children and 1 foster son. They have been a part of the Olivet family for over a decade.
Debbie and her husband Warren have been a part of Olivet for 3 years since the merger of the 2 churches. Debbie serves as secretary at the Marquette campus where she served as secretary for 17 years when it was Orchard View Congregational Church. Debbie and Warren have 4 grown children and 14 grandchildren.
